Abigail King

I am 31 years old and have had Type 1 diabetes for almost 19 years, since the age of 12. I have (mis)managed my diabetes through 5 years of medical school and then life as a junior doctor. I was on a pump for 4 years: considerably better, but owing to certain disadvantages I am currently on a basal bolus DAFNE style regimen of Levemir twice a day and Novorapid before meals. Currently living and working in Northern Ireland as a locum GP and this regimen seems to be working well although it is early days and I have not had an HbA1c measured since starting
